cryo-EM Faculty (tenure-track) position

The School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua University and the Beijing Advanced Innovation Center of Structural Biology jointly invite application for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Electron Tomography or Correlative microscopy. We are particularly interested in investigators employing these approaches towards the further understanding of life sciences, complementing our strengths in structural biology, neurosciences, cell biology and developmental biology. The School of Life Sciences at Tsinghua houses the state-of-the-art cryo-EM facility including three Titan Krios, two Tecnai F20, one brand new FIB-SEM Helios, one Corr-Sight, three Tecnai-12 and other accessory instruments.
Based on the international standards, the faculty tenure-track system at Tsinghua Universityoffers a merit-based academic career choice for outstanding scientists. The career path starts from the initial appointment as tenure-track Assistant Professor through a tenured position as Associate Professor and on to Full Professor. The candidates should have PhD or MD plus additional postdoctoral training. Those with a demonstrated record in relevant research areas are especially encouraged to apply. Experiences in the following technical aspects will strengthen the application:
1. high-resolution electron tomography on cryo and regular specimen;
2. correlative microscopy of cryo and regular specimen;
3. image processing and analysis for electron tomography;
4. applications and development of new technologies, such as sub-volume average, phase-plate electron microscopy and FIB (Focused Ion Beam) milling.
