Tsinghua University and Peking university established the Center for Life Sciences
The inauguration ceremony of Tsinghua University - Peking University Center for Life Sciences (CLS) was held on April 18th, at the Medical Science Building of Tsinghua University. President Binglin Gu of Tsinghua University, President Qifeng Zhou of Peking University, Vice Minister of Education zhanyuan Du, made speeches representing the two schools and the Ministry of Education, and jointly inaugurated for the CLS. The ceremony was hosted by KeJun Kang, the Vice President of Tsinghua University.
CLS practices top-level design, unified planning and management. The two schools will strengthen the institutional corporation in innovation, education and training, scientific research and other aspects of collaboration to explore the road of reform in science and education.

At the inauguration Ceremony, Yanjue Wang, Secretary of the Science and Technology Department, Ministry of Education, announced that the establishment of Center for Life Sciences was approved by the Ministry of Education. The relevant leaders from departments in the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Science, Ministry of Education, Tsinghua University and Peking University were also attended the ceremony.
