Research Area:

Our research mainly focuses on severe autoimmune kidney diseases, including ANCA associated vasculitis, anti-GBM disease, lupus nephritis and thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA). The features of our research are to find scientific questions from routine clinical work, taking the advantage of our rich clinical disease resources, and using advanced immunological techniques to carry out mechanism research for eventual clinical application. The focuses of our research are epitope mapping of autoantibodies and the mechanisms of epitope spreading, etiologies of autoimmune kidney disease, and the role of abnormal complements activation in the development of kidney disease. The technologies used in our research involve molecular immunology, protein biochemistry, cell biology and molecular informatics.
