Research Area:

Our research goal is to understand the biology of metabolic stress and to develop novel therapeutic strategies against obesity and metabolic syndrome. By taking a combination of molecular, genetic, genomic, metabolic and immunological approaches, our laboratory studies 1) immune orchestration of energy homeostasis; 2) development and function of brown and beige fat; and 3) adipose tissue remodeling. Dr. Qiu has published his work in prestigious journals like Cell, Nature, Nature Immunology, Cell Metabolism and Nature Communications.
