主要科研领域与方向:

主要从事冷冻电子显微学理论和方法研究,重点开展最新电子显微学技术的开发与应用,致力于建立具有普适性的亚细胞结构和生物大分子三维重构方法,以提升在原子尺度上观测和研究生命过程的能力。同时,着力推动电子显微学技术在结构生物学领域的应用,解决与生物大分子结构相关的关键科学问题。未来研究将着眼于发展新一代冷冻电镜技术,实现从组织到细胞等多个尺度的纳米级乃至原子级分辨率结构刻画,为在原子或分子水平上阐释生命活动规律提供技术支撑,并促进冷冻电镜技术在药物研发及临床医学等领域的广泛应用。

Main Research Fields:

Xueming Li engaged in theoretical and methodological research on cryo-electron microscopy (CryoEM) and its applications in structural biology to investigate fundamental biological questions. Our work focuses on developing and implementing novel image processing techniques and experimental approaches to enhance CryoEM's capability for routine atomic-resolution structural analysis of biological specimens. Looking ahead, Xueming Li aim to develop next-generation cryo-electron microscopy technologies to overcome current technical limitations, enabling the visualization of nanometer-scale and ultimately atomic-resolution structures within tissues and cells. These advancements will facilitate in situ understanding of fundamental life processes and expand the application of cryo-electron microscopy technology to broader fields, including pharmaceutical design and medical research.
