许多大脑功能源于高度分布的局部功能网络的涌现特性。然而,由于缺乏能够以高时空分辨率捕获整个大脑网络活动的工具,对这一大规模功能网络的理解长期受限。为解决这一问题,我们开创了一系列新型光学与计算方法,持续提升大规模在体神经记录的时空通量、准确性及成像深度极限,并深入理解神经环路的计算模型。依托这些技术,我们致力于探索以下核心问题:
• 信息论与计算层面:感觉信息如何在哺乳动物大脑的不同处理层次上编码、转换与表征;
• 系统神经科学层面:神经表征如何与内部状态(如动机、注意力和记忆)交互,以驱动特定行为;
• 类脑智能层面:基于大脑工作机制优化人工神经网络的开发。
